OUR CUSTOMERS

With 140 locations, BAUKING AG is one of the market-leading companies in the building materials and timber trade. In addition to serving around 90,000 regular customers in the specialist trade, several million customers visit BAUKING AG DIY stores every year. More than 50,000 articles are offered in over 50 Hagebaumarkt stores.

As part of a successive modernisation, Bauking AG relies on a decentralised document capture, carried out by clerks, the sceye system captures the daily incoming offers, delivery notes and invoices.

Challenge

In the daily process of goods deliveries and invoice verification, the most diverse types of documents are processed. The correctness of the content as well as the further processing of the documents can only be assessed by the person in charge. Particularly problematic here is the large variety of one-page and multi-page documents and heavily used and soiled papers such as delivery and freight notes.

Solution

The advantage of sceye’s contactless capture is particularly evident in the case of heavily soiled documents. sceye’s high dust insensitivity allows maintenance-free capture directly at the goods delivery. The high maintenance effort of previous scanners was only economically viable if documents were captured centrally.

Due to this new, decentralised capture with sceye, the document processing time could be reduced from 3 to 1 day compared to the previous centralised processes. In addition, work interruptions are avoided because each workstation is equipped with its own scanner and thus no peripherals have to be shared.

Via the Twain interface, sceye could be immediately integrated into the existing DMS system without any further adjustments. Thanks to the convenient auto-cutting and automatic straightening of papers of any size, the pages are also optimally prepared for further archiving.

The accelerated processes, the fact that documents do not have to be transported to a central location and the maintenance-free and trouble-free operation were the main decision criteria for Bauking.
